I can still hear Craigs advice as he shouted back from the lounge "We're going to have to call the manufacturers to repair this" as he fumbled through his phone trying to Google the head office number.
I had other plans though, I was going to get hold of a local electrical repairman at half the price.
Not only did he manage to unabashedly take my R1100, he also managed to conn me into believing he had repaired the part. 3 months later (and apparently a lot of silicone to put the wires back for a while) later my machine broke again. This time I phoned the manufacturers head office and paid HALF of the rate I originally paid to the git who ran off with my cash to repair it.
The lesson? If you want professional service, paying for quality is worth the money spent and the price you pay for being a smart ass isn't worth the stress.
