Waiting for Shanah

You may recall model couple Tarryn and Pat from my Funday Sunday shoot a few months ago. This is my first shoot in a couple months and I'm posting them ASAP so that you can see these beautiful parents 2 days before Shanah's arrival. (I only hope I'm looking as gorgeous as Tarryn does when I'm expecting) 

Funny thing is (I didn't know this back then) they had just found out they were expecting at the time of their first shoot with me. Here we are 9 months later and Shanah is about to make her debut. 

Wishing you so much love as you welcome your princess into the world on Monday 10th September 2012. We'll be thinking of you and look forward to Shanah's newborn shoot. 

Call Me An April Fool

In my efforts of getting creative and having time to reflect on what's important, I've decided to be the April Fool this year.

On Sunday 1 April I will be shooting 6 close friends in celebration of the fools we allow ourselves to be around our nearest and dearest.

This inspiration came to me over the weekend while packing up our house. I've realized again just how precious our friendships are and also how fleeting they are too! I had found a box of old photos dating back to 2010, not exactly a decade ago but old enough for me to realize that few of those people were still actively part of my life today. Some of the had moved on, some just haven't been in touch or vice versa. Some had moved out the country and others I had outgrown. But at that time we were all extremely close knit and for that reason I won't ever throw those pics away!

So on the 1st of April I will be capturing a group of friends for a small fee which forms a part of a big R650 discount. For R200 per person and a max of 6 people you too can dedicate time to bring back the comradrie and reunite friendships. Besides if you don't make the time to show your friends how much they mean to you, you may never get all of them in the same place at the same time again.

Funday Sunday

Tarryn and Patrique aren't your usual cute couple. Theres a tangible friendship between them that solidifies their love. Today we had the pleasure of taking their couple shots. Although already happily married for a few years now, this couple believes strongly in keeping their love alive. There is no occasion or anniversary to celebrate this shoot, just good times on Funday Sunday.

Kelly's Debut Shoot

Kelly dreams of going large in Europe - model style!

Our themed shoot found us working the camera hard and taking no prisoners. I'm sure you'll agree Kelly has a bright future ahead of her as she jet sets to the UK at the end of March 2012.

Thanks to my crew for all their help as usual. Make up by Tiffany Taylor, Salana Jooste did Kelly's hair and Wayne and Craig for assisting with props and equipment. Please feel free to post comments, we would love to hear your thoughts.

Bredenkamp Shoot

The Bredenkamps were a referral from a previous shoot that I had done and we had met face to face to discuss their family shoot.

A year later the family were adamant that our shoot was overdue. A house move and repeatedly rainy weather on our scheduled shoot dates kept us from putting these family portraits together, until now.

Kiki goes to the park

Kristen aka "Kiki" is the epitome of a happy little girl. I've had the privilege of shooting for her, her mum and dad twice over the last 12 months and how she's grown!

Kiki loves to swing, play hide and seek and feel the wind in her hair. And she is SO loved by mum and dad who just adore her.

We visited them in the park and Kiki showed us some of her favourite things.

Alisha & Laurence - E-shoot Same Day Edits

Alisha and Laurie (as he is affectionately known) knew their paths were meant to lead to marriage from the beginning.

We know this because Alisha and Laurence are not only our clients but our friends. As we've watched their love blossom into what is now an engagement, we look on with much love for these two amazing people.

Although seemingly timid Laurence is not a shy kinda guy, in fact he's pretty funny as Alisha knew from the beginning no doubt. We shared some fun in the sun with these pics taken in honour of their engagement.
