Love and Romance, something all of us want and need. My friends Tracey and Brendan have found both in each other.

The Photo-Journo within me was released today moments after coming across this scene of a damaged vehicle and the site of an armed response officer laying just meters away.
The incident had literally just happened, in fact when I got out to go and attend (I'm a qualified BLS - Ambulance Assistant) the car engine was still running!

The brave response officer and his team had chased the thieves from a Randburg residence and managed to scuffle with one of the suspects. Although he landed up in handcuffs the thief didn't give up without taking hold of the officers service knife and attempted to stab him in the abdomen. Although he escaped the stabbing the scuffle left the officer with severe lacerations on his hands - and yours truly was there to help - first on scene.

Just before I left, minutes after handing over to paramedics, I took the liberty of shooting some crime scene photos that I'll more than likely forward to the local papers.

Look out for my pics, this may just be the start to my photo journalist career!

I absolutely love it when the birds in my garden are happy. I have a whole lot of different species that visit me on a daily basis to collect their bread and seed lunches en route and their presence is such a blessing.

They are so abundant that my Skype callers can hear them in the background.
They are all there to remind me that you're never to small to just sing!!!!

Dear Santa, lets talk.

So tonight I had the privilege of shooting with a Nikon D700 at an event in Fourways. No, I wasn't 2nd shooting but rather shooting on behalf of a tog, with a massively large camera that just makes mine look so menial and pathetic.

Its amazing how my sense of joy was bought back, like reliving the your first kiss. My passion reignited after a couple weeks of iffyness and boredom with life in general.

What an amazing piece of machinery, the total cost of around R48 000 - thats a LOT of saving.
I have a plan though, I've got Santa on speed dial and we need to talk. Christmas needs to come early this year, I want that camera! Perhaps I should contact Nikon instead and put my desires on a wish list that they could "donate" a camera to a worthy candidate. LOL, a girl can dream!

Thanks Stefan for a great evening, and to Craig my faithful and ever supportive boyfriend for sitting with me the WHOLE night while I shot.

From a very tired Tan, I'll see you through the D700 lens!

Feel the Love

Valentines Day, what a controversial subject to some and a no brainer for others.
Today I've been particularly blase about the day of love, candy and pink underwear, especially as I am of the opinion that each year the white teddies hit the shelves earlier than before.

Of course I received my own delivered bunch of Gerbera's to my door step, in fact Natasha Alexander of the Flower Station not only came INTO my home and arranged them for me as an added extra but taught me how to use the sachet of flower food instead of chucking it in the bin with the left over cellophane, which I normally do.

Craig gave me the option to have a romantic evening at a local restaurant, but this year instead of Michelangelos , I've decided that I want to share the love and I'll be dining with Carmel van Wyk of Red Pepper Events and her family and friends at their home where 5 couples and 3 kids will feel the love (and enjoy her home cooked chicken that money just can't buy) She's gone all out with catered starters and desserts, no doubt she'll be putting her Midas touch on the whole evening AND I'll get to meet the families latest edition - a miniature Yorkshire terrier puppy named Bella.

Wishing you much love, not only today but always.
Don't wait till the people you love aren't around any longer, live each day like its Valentines.
Bon Appetite & Enjoy!

My peach tree has the most gorgeous red leaves. Today as the sun shone through
them I realised that this would be my pic of the day. Enjoy.

This is the key charm on my cell phone, taken from my desk where I work and edit my photographs. Anyone who knows me well enough will tell you about my Hello Kitty passion and when I received this cell charm from a R10 lucky ball machine twice in 4 months I took it as my confirmation to take my photography a little more seriously.

I hate bugs, today I thought of Kat and the commentary that would be running through her head or my ears should she have been in my garden when I spotted these yukky manky bugs...
If you know what they are please tell me!

Ew - shudder - gag!
